Office-related Affairs:
The college’s office of educational affairs is in charge of all educational affairs of students of the departments of Economics, Management, and Accounting & Sociology under the supervision of vice-dean for educational affairs.
Summary of Educational Rules:
Entrance & registration condition:
1-Privilege for continuing studies
2-Secondary school fulfillment certificate from domestic or foreign schools
3-Being accepted in the national university entrance exam held by “Sanjesh” organization.
Registration:
1-The accepted individual in the entrance exam ought to proceed for registration & course enrollment within the dates announced by the university.
2-Not proceeding for registration within the first semester after the entrance exam result announcement will be considered as giving up education.
3-In case of delaying & providing plausible excuse, the individual will be out of right for course enrollment & studying in the semester; however the semester will be considered as his privileged period for studying.
4-In the first month after each semester the accepted individual ought to inform the college’s office of educational affairs of his plausible excuse along with documented reasons in writing.
Academic year:
Each academic year consists of two academic semesters and a summer program if necessary and each semester includes 16 weeks of teaching.
Number of credit units:
Associate program: between 68 to 72 credit units
Adjoined undergraduate program except technical and engineering majors: between 135 to 130 credit units
Adjoined undergraduate program for technical and engineering majors:
Between 130 to 140 credit units
Non-adjoined undergraduate program: 67 to 70 credit units
Adjoined postgraduate programs: between 172 to 182 credit units
Non-adjoined postgraduate programs: between 28 to 32 credit units
All students can take at least 12 and at most 20 credit units each semester
In the last academic semester, students are free from practicing the obligatory condition of taking at least 12 credit units.
If a student has a single course left to his graduation, he can pass the course’s exam along the semester through being introduced to a teacher, upon the university’s consideration and the related teachers’ confirmation.
The single-course process:
1-Providing the form regarding “note 2. Article 11” from the department
2-Getting the form signed by the educational expert in order to confirm that there’s only one course left, and defining the course in the educational automation system.
3-Getting the form signed by the head of department and introducing the student
4-Getting the form signed by the vice-dean for educational affairs
5-Sending the form to the office of educational affairs
6-It is necessary that at most 10 days after issuing an admission for the single course, the student take the exam from the course teacher.
7-Announcing the score by the teacher through the educational automation system and completing “form B”
8-Sending the form from the department to the vice-dean for education
9-Sending the form to university’s office of educational affairs
Program Length:
The most allowed studying period in the associate and non-adjoined undergraduate programs is 3 years and for the adjoined undergraduate program is 6 years.
If the student should not pass his program’s credit units within the most studying period allowed, he will be dismissed from the university.
Absence:
A student’s absence in a course should not exceed the total number of hours of the course; otherwise his mark in the course will be zero.
If the student’s absence be recognized as plausible, the course will be eliminated and practicing a limit number of 12 credit units along the semester will not be obligatory; however the mentioned semester will be counted for his academic record as complete semester.
Process of eliminating a semester:
1-Approaching the office of educational affairs and completing a form
2-Signing the form by the head department and vide-dean for educational affairs
3-Handing in the form to the university’s office of educational affairs.
Associate degree requesting process:
A student who’s failed and been conditioned in a course or has been banned from continuing studies in the undergraduate program or quits studying himself, if having passed at least 70 credit units with passing grade is eligible to receive an associate’s degree in the major.
Major changing process:
1-Providing the major changing form from the office of educational affairs
2-Completing the form
3-Sending the form to the university’s office of educational affairs in order for setting the necessary condizions
4-Forwarding the form for the student’s requested department’s opinion
5-The department expressing its opinion to the office of educational affairs
6-Announcing agreement or objection with the major being changed
Conditions of studying as “guess student”:
Being guess student in a university is on condition that the a student should have spent a minimum of one semester in the university he wishes to be transferred from.
Process of becoming guess student in other universities:
1-Providing the form from the colleges office of educational affairs
2-Completing the form and handing it to the office
Process of becoming guess student in Shiraz University:
1-Providing the form the local university and having a minimum average of 14
2-Sending the form to Shiraz university’s office of educational affairs
Process of making an absence plausible:
1-Providing medical evidence to the office, if due to illness
2-Introducing the student to the university’s medical section
3-Presenting the medical section’s evidence to the related teacher
4-Necessary elimination of the course in case of teacher’s agreement to the absence being plausible
Absence in exams:
Plausible absence in an exam is equal to getting a zero score for the course
Plausible absence in an exam will cause the course to be eliminated
Process of making an exam absence plausible:
1-Before the 83-84 second semester
a.presenting the office of educational affairs with evidence an providing the form
b.Forwarding the form to the university‘s medical section after being singed by the head of department and vice-dean for educational affairs.
c.Course’s teacher expressing his opinion
d.Being put forward in the educational council of the university and the school
2-On from the 83-84 semester
a.Providing the form and being confirmed by the specialist
b.The department’s specialist is responsible to get the form confirmed by the tutor, head of department and the teacher of the related course.
c.Being put forward in the educational council of the university and the school.
Course elimination & adding process:
In order to add or eliminate a course a student should meet the departments
specialist for educational affairs and receive the related forms, then hand them to the specialist after being singed by the tutor.
Final course elimination:
5 weeks far from the semester’s end a student can withdraw one of his theoretical courses with confirmation of the related educational group, on condition that his remained courses not are less than 12 credit units.
Final course elimination process:
1-Approaching the department’s educational specialist
2-Handing in the related form, after tutor confirmation and returning the form to the educational speciliast
Process of being guess student in summer semester:
1-Sending the student’s application form to Shiraz university’s office for educational affairs
2-Approaching college of literature and humanities for registering general courses
Process of accepting credit units of a guess student:
1-Sending the student’s log sheet from the requesting university to Shiraz university’s office for educational affairs
2-Forwarding the log from the office to the faculty in order to complete the course matching chart
3-Sending back the form to the office for registration in the computer system
Important notice: Shiraz university does not accept under 12 scores of guess students obtained by them in their first university, and students ought to pass the course once again in Shiraz University.
Process of receiving a studying occupation certificate:
1-Receiving the form from the faculty
2-Approaching for confirmation to the office of educational affairs
3- Signing the form by the vice-dean for educational affairs; and registering the date and number for the form
Process of graduating:
1-Approaching the faculty’s educational specialist and requesting graduation along with handing in the bill factor.
2-Completing and handing the bill factor to the faculty
3-Sending document’s the college’s office for educational affairs
4-Forwarding the form to university’s office for educational office
5-Contacting the university’s educational office in order to receive letter and reference number
Process of equalizing teacher training courses:
1- A log sheet confirmed by teacher training centres should be granted to the university’s office for educational affairs
2-Sending the log sheet to the faculty and matching course according to the chart.
In order to get their list of scores, student should approach the university’s office for educational affairs.
